Expert Answer
Put y = 1, then L.H.S = y + 9 = 1 + 9 = 10
Put y = 2, then L.H.S = y + 9 = 2 + 9 = 11
Put y = 3, then L.H.S = y + 9 = 3 + 9 = 12 = R.H.S
Therefore y = 3 is the correct value.
