Solve the following simultaneous linear equation:
9x=62+8y;3y=52-2x

Expert Answer
9x=62+8y → 9x - 8y = 62 ... (i)
3y=52-2x → 2x + 3y = 52 ... (ii)
Multiplying equation (i) by 8 and (ii) by 3, we get
16x + 24y = 416 ... (iii)
27x - 24y = 186 ... (iv)
Adding (iii) and (iv), we get
43x = 602 → x = 14
Substitute x = 14 in equation (i), we get
28 + 3y = 52 → y = 8
