solve for x and y

Let
bx+ay=2ab .....(i)
ax-by=a^2-b^2......(ii)
multiplying (i) by b and (ii) by a we get
b2x +ab y = 2ab2
a 2 x - ab y = a3-ab2
adding these two equations we get
(a2+b2)x = a(a2+b2)
So x = a and y =b
