A homogeneous mixture which composed of only one phase where a solute is a substance which is dissolved in another substance, known as a solvent. It is called a solution. This solvent does the dissolving and it more or less takes on the characteristics of the solvent including its phase and the solvent is a major fraction of the mixture. The concentration of the solute in a solution is a measure amount of that solute is dissolved in the solvent.
