1. When train is moving with uniform velocity, all the bodies in train have the same velocity as that of the train. So, the ball has same horizontal velocity as that of the train. When the ball is thrown up, because there is no horizontal force, the ball due to inertia of motion has same horizontal velocity. Therefore, till the ball is in air both the ball and hands travel the same distance in horizontal direction and hence ball will fall back into hands.
