1/ Let h be the height of the lamp post, then a the lamp, the girls head and the end of shadow, all fall on the same line, that'll be hypotenuse.
Hence tan θ = h/(3.2 + 4.8) = 1.6/4.8
h = 2.66 m
2/ The triangle formed by the lamp, lamp post base and end of girls shadow is similar to triangle formed by girls head, her feet and end of shadow. Hence the ratio of corresponding sides be equal.
h/(3.2 + 4.8) = 1.6/4.8
h = 2.66 m
