Dear Student
It is very simple.
Pentane-1-ol
First look properly at the name. Pentane is a five chain alkane. So draw a fiv chain alkane.
CH3CH2CH2CH2CH3
Now the other part which says 1-ol.
-ol is a suffix used for alcohol functional group. so there is an OH group at the five membered chain. The position of the OH group is 1. So now redraw the structure keeping in mind the valency of carbon.
CH3CH2CH2CH2CH2OH
We hope that clarifies your query.
