To find the solutions for the given equation 3y + 9x = 0 we need to put different values of x and get the values of y (like we do to get few points to draw the given equation of line on a graph paper). We can take any 3 values of x.
Let x = 0
3y + 9(0) =0
3y = 0
y = 0 (divided both sides by 3)
Let x = 1
3y + 9(1) = 0
3y = -9 (subtracted 9 from both sides)
y = -3 (divided both sides by 3)
Let x = -1
3y + 9(-1) = 0
3y - 9 = 0
3y = 9 (added 9 to both sides)
y = 3 (divided both sides by 3)
So, 3 solutions for the given equation are (0,0), (1,-3) and (-1,3)
