​​​​​sir in one of your video lectures in chapter radioactivity of alpha radiation you gave the value of alpha as 2 protons and 2 neutrons how can one tell the constituents of a paticle?

Alpha particle or alpha rays is not but a helium atom. The mass number of helium atom is 4 i.e. Mass number (A) = 4 and number of protons (Z) are 2.
Thus number of neutrons in the alpha particle (He atom) is A - Z = 4 -2 = 2 
Thus, it is said that in alpha particle number of protons are 2 and number of neutrons are 2.
