Sir, I have a galvanometer.Please tell me how to convert it into an ammeter.Also please tell me about shunt resistor.

A galvanometer is basicallly used to detect if current is flowing in the circuit and the direction of the current.
An ameter is used to measure current and thus is connected in series with the circuit and is thus supposed to have low resistance. Thus to convert we use a low resistance and connect it in parallel to the galvanometer.
That resistance is known as shunt resistance
