A configuration means as a praticular arrangement of constituents or objects, or a particular orientation.
For example, if we pick up 3 balls. And we put them together in such a way that each of them touches one another, then that is one arrangement or configuration. Now we can put them together so that only two of them touches, that is another configuration or arrangement.
