Expert Answer
Show that the relation R in the set R of real number defined as R ={(a,b):a<a<2b} is neither reflex
I assume that your question is :
Show that the relation R in the set R of real number defined as R ={(a,b):a<a<2b} is not reflexive
Answer : A relation is said to be reflexive in simple english , if every element in that set is related to itself.
Now any element a of the set R can not satisfy a<a<2a
Because though a<2a is true but a<a is not .
The relation R is not reflexive.
