show that the function defined by g(x)=x- [x] is discontinuous at all

Expert Answer:

this function is discontinuous at all integer points

let a be a integer so when x- then [x] = a-1 and f(x) = 1

but when x= a+ then [x] = a and f(x) = 0

so f(a - ) is not equal to f( a+)

so function is discontinuous at all integers.
