This question is intriguing me, please it would be great if you explain me this word problem:
"A no. is as much greater than 17 as it is less than 31. Find the no."

Then comma space we space have straight x minus 17 equals 31 minus straight x rightwards double arrow straight x plus straight x equals 31 plus 17 rightwards double arrow 2 straight x equals 48 rightwards double arrow straight x equals 48 over 2 rightwards double arrow straight x equals 24 Hence comma space the space required space number space is space 24. end style
