resistors in series

Expert Answer
Potential difference is the work done by battery to push a unit charge through a resistor between those two points. If three resistors are in series , battery has to do different amount of work for different resistors , so Potential difference will be different for different resistors.As the resistors are in series ( one after another)so the no of charges passing in unit time by every resistor will be same.means current in three resistors will be same. V=IR is just application of Ohms law.
