In double fertilization, syngamy forms diploid zygote which forms the embryo whereas triple fusion leads to the formation of primary endosperm nucleus which forms the endosperm. Double fertilization in plants triggers the embryonic development which results in formation of seeds and fruits.

Ovulation is the process of the release of a mature egg from its follicle in the ovary. It usually occurs regularly, around day 14 of a 28-day menstrual cycle.
