reproduction

Expert Answer:

This is because the female reproductive system has to perform more functions than the male reproductive system. It produces ova (egg cells); nourishes, carries, and protects the developing embryo; and nurses the newborn after birth. The female reproductive system has to keep itself prepared for carrying and nurturing a foetus right till delivery and feeding it for some time after delivery.
