Comparing with,
ax4 + bx3 + cx2 + dx + e = 0
a = 1, b = -6, c = -26, d = 138, e = -35,
Let the roots be x1, x2, x3, x4.
x1 + x2 + x3 + x4 = -b/a
2+3 +2 - 3 + x3 + x4 = 6
x3 + x4 = 2 ...(1)
Also,
x1x2x3x4 = -35 = e/a
(2+3)(2 - 3)x3x4 = -35
x3x4 = -35
x4 = -35/x3
(1) becomes,
x3 -35/x3 = 2
x32 -2x3 -35 = 0
x3 = 7 and -5,
Hence x4 = -35/7 = -5 and similary 7.
The remaining roots are -5 and 7.
