Let the distance = x km and time taken to reach is y hours
Hence, if Ram travels at 3 km/ h
x = 3(y + 0.25)
x = 3y + 0.75 (1)
Now, if Ram travels at 4km/h
x = 4(y-0.25)
x = 4y - 1 (2)
Substituting the value of x from equation 1 into equation 2
3y+0.75 = 4y-1
1.75 = y
Hence, x = 3(1.75) + 0.75
x = 5.25 + 0.75 = 6 km
Hence, the distance Ram has to travel 6 km.
