Rakesh's age is less than saniya's age by 5 years. The sum of their ages is 27 years how old are they?

Let x and y be the ages of Rakesh and Saniya.
According to the question,
x + y = 27.......(i)
x = y - 5......(ii)
Put x = y - 5 in (i)
y - 5 + y = 27
2y = 27 + 5
2y = 32
y = 16
and x = y - 5 = 16 - 5 = 11
Hence, age of Rakesh is 11 years and Saniya's is 16 year.
