rainfall measuring 4.2cm on a flat roof with dimension 4m * 6m is collected in a rectangular tank with 3.2m * 1.5m in dimension. Assuming no loss of water due to evaporation, find the depth of the water in tank in mm.

volume of rain water collected at roof = 4×6×4.2×10-2 = 1.008 m3
depth of water in tank = 1.008/(3.2×1.5) = 0.21 m = 210 mm
