Radiation can kill or cure'. discuss. How does a radioactive element give off radiation?

some radiation for example x-ray are used for diagonostic purposes, and for tumour treatment...beacuse these radiation are given in controlled enviroment which kills the tumour cells and saves life but other raidations like gamma radiation which is produced by the radioactive decay of the elements causes mutation in animals including humans which can be life threatning.
Radioactive decay is the process in which an unstable atomic nucleus loses energy by emitting radiation in the form of particles or electromagnetic waves.this is also
