Q: a and b are two positive integers such that the least prime factor of a is 3 and the least prime factor of b is 5. Then, the least prime factor of (a + b) is
Solution:
Least prime factor of a is 3
Therefore, a is an odd number as the least prime factor of an even number has to be 2
Also, b is an odd number as its least prime factor is 5.
Sum of a+b is going to be an even number as the sum of two odd numbers is an even number.
Least prime factor of an even number is 2.
Hence, the least prime factor of a+b is 2.
