Question 1 Continuity eqn is A1V1=A2V2 which means volume flow rate is constant. Then how volume flow rate is changed when a water tap is turned or controlled(ie when Area is changed)? In Physics Asked by: Maria Jose, on Oct 19, 2012 Ans. the volume flow rate remians same just the speed of the flow is changed.

Expert Answer:
the concept that the volume flow remains constant because we assume that the fluid is incompressible
so the fluid comeing in has to go out with the same volume rate as it is not being stored anywhere
