### 2^{x+2} - 3^{y+1} = 5 ... (1)
2^{x} + 3^{y} = 17 ... (2)
Multiplying (2) by 3, we get
2^{x+2} - 3^{y+1} = 5 ... (1)
2^{x}3 + 3^{y+1} = 51 ... (2)
Adding them, we get
2^{x+2} + 2^{x}3 = 56
2^{x}(2^{2}+3) = 56
2^{x}(7) = 56
2^{x }= 8 = 2^{3}
x = 3
From (ii), we get
8 + 3^{y} = 17
3^{y} = 9 = 3^{2}
y = 2
