Expert Answer
Resistance R of heater coil is obtained from the relation, P = V2/R , where P is power rating and V is voltage
Hence resistance R = (200 × 200)/100 = 400Ω
When this heater coil is cut into two equal pieces, each one has resistance R' = 200Ω .
Hence power consumed by each coil , P = V2 / R' = (200 × 200 )/200 = 200 W
If two coils are parallel, power consumed by each coil is 200 W
