Expert Answer:

Let the digits be x and y, then the number is 10x+y

xy = 24, i.e. y = 24/x

10x+y - 18 = 10y+x

9x -9y = 18,

x-y = 2

x-24/x = 2

x2 -2x -24 = 0

x = (2±(4+4x24)1/2)/2

x = 6,-4.

y = 4, -6.

The number is 64.
