Area of a ΔABC = 1/2 × base × height = 1/2 × AC × BM = 1/2 × 8 × 3 = 12 cm2 ... (i)
Area of a rectangle CDON = length × breadth = 5 × 4 = 20 cm ... (ii) 
 AF = NP ... Opposite sides of a rectangle 
NP = 8.4 
PE = 1.8  ... PE = NE - NP 
AN = AC - NC = 8 - 5 = 3cm   .... OD = NC  ... Opposite sides of a rectangle
AN = PF = 3cm ... Opposite sides of a rectangle 
 
Area of a rectangle ANPF = length × breadth = 8.4 × 3 = 25. 2 cm2 ... (iii)

Area of a ΔEPF = 1/2 × base × height = 1/2 × PE × PF = 1/2 × 1.8 × 3 = 2.7 cm2 ... (iv)

Area of a ΔDOE = 1/2 × OE × OD = 1/2 × 5 × 5 = 12.5 cm2 ... (v)

Area of a hexagon ABCDEF =  12 cm2 + 20 cm2 + 25. 2 cm2 + 2.7 cm2 + 12.5 cm2 = 72.4 cm2
