Expert Answer:
A oxidising agent can be defined as a chemical compound that transfer oxygen and oxidise other compound. Both potassium permagnate and potassium dichromate transfer oxygen and oxidise other compound.
potassium dichromate is used in breth analyser because dichromate oxidise ethanol into acetic acid. it changes the colour of dichromate from yellow to green.
