Q1.Difference between hormones and enzymes

Hormones
(i)Hormones are chemical substances produced by specific organs of the body like adrenal glands, pituitary glands, pancreas, etc.
(ii) These are released directly into the blood stream.
(iii) Hormones perform reactions at the place of origin.
(iv) Hormones are not catalysts as they initiate biochemical reactions.
Enzymes
(i)Enzymes are large biological molecules that are responsible for the thousands of chemical reactions happening simultaneously in a body.
(ii)These are not released into the blood stream directly.
(iii)Hormones perform activity at some distance away from the place of origin.
(iv)Enzymes are catalysts as they catalyze biochemical reactions.
