Analogy refers to the similarity in function of two different organisms with a different structure. Depending on the organs present in the animals, it is termed as analogous organs.
Two comments are:
1. The analogy of animals is due to convergent evolution.
2. It is not inherited from a common ancestor. For example, bat wings consist of flaps of skin stretched between the bones of the fingers and arm. Bird wings consist of feathers extending all along the arm. These structural dissimilarities suggest that bird wings and bat wings were not inherited from a common ancestor with wings.
