problems on eqn of motion

First write down all the data given in the question and what to find. Use correct formula to calculate the unknown quantity.
For example: if initial and final velocity and time taken is given and you have to find acceleration, then apply first equation of motion; v=u+at.
If initial and final velocity and time taken is given and you have to find the distance travelled then firse find acceleration by using 1st equation of motion: v=u+at and after that apply 2nd equation of motion to calculate distance: s= ut+1/2at2
