Problem occuring in the calculation of Force and acceleration

If the masses are considered to be ties together by massless rope , then the combined acceleration of the system is given as,

a = F / ( m1 + m2 )..............(i)

Here , F = 5N ,

           m1 = F  / a 1 = 5 / 10 = 0.5 kg

           m2 = F  / a 2 = 5 / 20  = 0.25 kg

Substituting all the values in eqn (i), you may calculate the answer .
