considering it to be a perfectly elastic collision in one dimension , let the velocity of 1st player be v1 and that of second player be v2 . Use the formulae given below to calculate the velocities of the players :
v1 = [ ( m1 - m2 ) u1 / ( m1 + m2 ) ] + 2 m2 u2 / ( m1 + m2 )
V2 = [ ( m2 - m1 ) u2 / ( m1 + m2 ) ] + 2 m1 u1 / ( m1 + m2 )
where m1 and m2 are masses of 1st and 2nd players resp. and u1 , u2 their velocities.
