first find the hcf of both numbers i.e. 1872 and 1320
it's 24
we see that
1872=24*78
1320=24*55
so the tiles must be of size 24x24.(since they are to be square tiles)
now
the length 1872 cm can contain 78 such tiles
the breadth 1320 can contain 55 such tiles
sobasically we can lay 78 tiles along the length and 55 tiles along the breadth.
So,
total 78*55 is the number of tiles.
