A body experiences the condition of weightlessness in a freely falling lift.

If the lift is falling freely under gravity, its acceleration, a =g.

so, the apparent weight of the man ( or the force which the body exerts on floor )

R = m ( g - a )

or,

R = m ( g - g )= 0
