they are different trigonometric ratios for acute angles(as for the class X syllabus)and when the angles are part of a right triangle, they are defined as follows. Sin (sine)of an angle in a right triangle is the ratio of side opp to the angle and hypotenuse. Simly cos(cosine) of an angleis the ratio of side adjacent to the angle and hypotenuse. Tan( tangent) can be found by the ratio of opposite and adjacent sides to the angle. for any more questions , specific doubts on this , do get back to us!!
