Mass of Cu = 4 gm

Mass of oxide form = 5 gm

So, the mass of oxygen = 5 − 4 = 1 gm

The mass of 4 gm copper reacted with 1 gm oxygen to form oxide.

The equivalent weight of oxygen is 8.

Therfore, the weight of copper that will react with 8 gm of oxygen is,

equals fraction numerator 8 cross times 4 over denominator 1 end fraction

space equals space 32 space gm
