Expert Answer:
Section A (Reading) of your question paper will test your reading and comprehension skills. It will have two unseen passages (one of them might be a poem) with the following types of questions:
- Gap filling
- Sentence completion
- Table completion
- Word attack questions
- Reference to context
- Short Answer Questions
- Multiple Choice Questions
You will be tested for your vocabulary in these passages. The passage can be literary, factual or discursive to test your comprehension skills. The following points might help you score better in this section:
Reading: You must develop the habit of reading at a fair pace. The more English books/novels/stories you read, the better you are positioned to answer vocabulary based questions correctly because reading increases and improves one's vocabulary.
Sample Papers: Solve as many sample papers as you can to increase your familiarity with the paper pattern and unseen passages/poems.
Happy Studying!
