Take a huge glass vessel and fill it with dry sand. As shown in the above setup, place a porous pot containing water deep into the sand. Also place a pea seedling in the sand at a distance from the pot. Leave the setup for a few days. On observation we find that the roots have curved towards the porous pot containing water. This shows that roots are positively hydrotropic.
