The rules for naming of carbon compound having 2 functional group in IUPAC system are:
1)while naming such compound find senior group accordig to seniorty table and named its suffix name.
2)numbering must be done towards senior group./
3)Name the prefix name of junior group .
eg, CH3CH(OH)CHO (2-hydroxy- propanal)
here junior group is OH and named prefix (hydroxy) with position and CHO is senior group and named as (al).
