Let the numbers be x, y and z where z is the largest number.
According to the question,
xy + z is the correct number.
Wrong number is z(x + y).
Equating numbers,
xy + z = z(x + y)
xy + z = zx + zy
xy + z = zx + zy + xy - xy
xy + xy + z = zx + zy + xy
2xy + z = zx + zy + xy..........(I)
(x + y + z)2 = x2 + y2 + z2 + 2xy + 2yz + 2xz
begin mathsize 16px style straight x plus straight y plus straight z equals square root of straight x squared plus straight y squared plus straight z squared plus 2 left parenthesis xy plus yz plus zx right parenthesis end root
