D = diameter of well,

d = depth of well,

D2, D1 = outer and inner diameters of the embankment.

H = height of embankment.

D1 = D

Amount of volume of earth dug out = πD2d/4

= (22/7)(7)2(22.5) = 3465 m3

The same amount goes to form the embankment,

= π(D22 - D12) H/4 = π(D22 - D2) H/4 = 3465 m3


D22  = {(3465)(4)(7)/[(22)(1.5)]} + 49

= 2989 m2

D2 = 54.67 m

Width of embankment = (D2 - D)/2 = 23.84 m
