List of minerals available in Jharkhand are:
Iron Ore: Hematite iron ore is prominently found in the state. It has hematite reserves of more than 3000 million tones. Its main deposits are located in Chiria region, near Manoharpura area in Singbhum district
Mica: Jharkhand is an important producer of mica in the country. It contributes 46% of total mica reserves in India.
Copper: Copper ore deposits are mainly found in East Singbhum area. The total reserves of minerals in the state have estimated to be 110 million tones.
Coal: It is found in the regions of Hazaribagh, Rajmahal, Bokaro, Chatra and Jharia regions. The state has 69128 million tones of coal.
Uranium: Jharkhand is a major producer of uranium. It is mainly found in the east Singbhum region.
Limestone: Reserves are estimated to be of 563 million tones in the state. It is mainly found in the areas of Hazaribagh, Palamau, Ranchi and Singbhum districts.
To conserve above minerals, the Jharkhand state has initiated certain legislations which have clearly laid down guidelines of the rules and regulations that have to be followed by mining companies while mining minerals. The model of sustainable development is been increasingly formulated to conserve mineral resources. There also have been rising awareness among people to help in conserving resources by saving energy.
