please explain how to calculate the minimum force required to remove a block of mass 'm' in the place 'l' from a collection of 'p' identical blocks plced over each other

The 'p' blocks of mass 'm' are arranged as shown below.
 
 
Now, the total mass of all the blocks put together is mp.
The mass of blocks below the lth block is ml.
So, the mass of all the blocks that are above the lth block is mp - ml.
 
Hence, the weight of the blocks above the lth block is mg (p -l).
This will be the minimum force that would be required to remove the lth block, i.e. F = mg (p - l).
