The price of the equipment after 10 years is given by the following relation: Price after 10 years = 60,000 - 60,000[0.15 + 0.135 + ........10 terms] The terms in the bracket are an AP of 10 terms with the first term as 0.15 and the common diffrence as 0.015 The sum of n terms of an AP is given by Sn = n/2[2a + (n-1)d] Thus the sum of the first 10 terms would be: S10 = 5[2*0.15 + 9*0.015] Evalute the above expression and substitute in the orignal expression to get the price of the machine after 10 years. |
