i. If we stretch the fingers of right hand, and point the thumb in the direction of current, we find that when the fingers curled around the conductor, they face towards us, hence the magnetic field is out towards us.

ii. Similarly using the right hand rule, as exemplified above, the direction of magnetic field in this case is away from us, and into the plane of the coil.
