Copper ,Cu is below hydrogen in the reactivity series and thus, does not react with dil sulphuric acids to liberate Hydrogen.

Cu + dil H2SO4No reaction

Copper reacts with hot concentrated sulphuric acid as it acts as strong oxidising agent.

Cu + 2H2SO4  CuSO4 + H2O + SO2
