Average velocity is always calculated based on total displacement divided by time.
Av velocity = Net Displacement / time taken
The formula for average velocity and average speed are NOT same.
Av speed = Distance covered / time taken
Position vector is defined as the vector that is formed by joining the reference point(origin) with the position of the particle and whose direction is from the reference(origin) to the position.
Position vector is different from vectors of force and momentum in the sense that they are different physical quantities. But if you consider them as vectors only same vector rules can be applied for addition and other vector operations.
