Stem cells are relatively unspecialized cells that has the ability to divide and give rise to specialized cells. Stem cells have the ability to self-renew as well as to develop into specialized cells. Stem cells can be derived from embryonic, foetal, or adult sources.
Eg. - The different types of blood cells are derived from the stem cells present in bone marrow.
